To build an e-commerce website

How it all started
The Prezzemolo e Vitale e-commerce was born from the vision of Giuseppe Prezzemolo and Giusi Vitale, who, together with their children, created a virtual space for daily shopping. It offers high-quality products, including items from small local producers and Slow Food Presidia.
The e-commerce platform complements their physical stores, seven in Palermo and three in London, bringing the familiar and traditional in-store shopping experience online, making it accessible to everyone.
The solution
The e-commerce solution developed by Synesthesia, in collaboration with Droplet, allows customers to receive personalized shopping recommendations when accessing the platform. Among the thousands of available products are those from the “Giù Giù” and “Le Eccellenze di Prezzemolo e Vitale” lines, featuring Sicilian specialties under Prezzemolo & Vitale’s private labels.
The platform incorporates three navigation systems, enabling users to easily find what they need:
- Categories and subcategories: presented directly on the homepage, mirroring the structure of departments and shelves in the physical stores;
- filters that allow users to find products by specifying their features;
- auto-complete search enabling the display of the most relevant products and direct addition to the cart for a quicker checkout.

Results
A targeted communication strategy, an intuitive and “familiar” user experience, the development of a dedicated mobile app, and the creation of the Magento-based platform were the key elements in achieving the overarching goal of the e-commerce project: making P&V customers feel “at home.”

How it all started
Digital Commerce by Synesthesia is a professional, pragmatic and integrated answer to modern companies’ multichannel requirements for their online sales strategies.
The combination of Marketplaces, e-Commerce and Social Commerce creates an invaluable advantage for operating nimbly in a competitive environment and increasing sales. These three different online sales methods are essential for reaching all target audiences with flexible mechanisms and gaining valuable analytical information on the type, location and habits of customers and prospects.
The solution
Digital Commerce solutions include the implementation of e-Commerce, Marketplaces and Social Commerce projects according to the demands and needs of our clients.
e-Commerce
e-Commerce has numerous advantages for vendors.
They enable:
- the optimisation of warehouse resources
- the expansion of potential customer bases
- the opening of new markets
- the availability of analysis and reporting tools
- the management of communities, advertising and promotions
- the management of reviews
- the use of integrated payment systems
From the public’s perspective, e-Commerce enables consumers to access different payment methods, view products with specific information (such as detailed technical specifications) and view entire catalogues in just a few clicks.
There are various types of platforms (Shopify, Magento, etc.) which we can create from scratch or we can build on any client’s existing ‘in house’ platforms.

Marketplace
Marketplaces are global digital platforms that connect those who want to sell with those who want to buy, and today they are an almost indispensable sales method for companies. To name but a few of the best known marketplaces: Amazon, Ebay, Alibaba Group, Walmart.com.
Among the many advantages associated with this solution lie the strength and credibility of the marketplace, the possibility of opening up to new markets and the consequent attainment of new customers/niches, all combined with a considerable simplification of the entire sales process.
Social Commerce
In a world where social media is the main venue for digital interaction, Social Commerce has become an essential channel of engagement. The objective is to give users a more interactive experience and make the purchasing process easier and more immediate.
Social Commerce drives users to purchase in an environment that is ‘familiar’ to them. This is why it is essential to devise the right social strategy in terms of both brand recognition and loyalty.
Social Commerce also has the added advantage of leveraging word of mouth, suggestions and shares from active consumers on platforms and communities.
We use the most well-known B2B and B2C platforms used by your target audience (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).

How it all started
Stroppiana Ortrofrutticoli S.p.A. is a historical company in the Piedmont area, specialized in the distribution of high quality vegetables and fruit in the B2B sector. It supplies restaurants, schools and company canteens with difficult to find organic, zero-kilometre products.
The solution
The goal was to create a high-profile, agile “e-commerce” brand.
A strategic analysis, using data-driven growth hacking techniques, led to the choice of a new B2C service name and the definition of graphic guidelines and positioning.
The COVID-19 emergency accelerated the launch of the new service online, with a campaign focused on emergency support to strengthen the connection with the local community. Synesthesia implemented geolocated, digital, and local print communication campaigns with specific promotions to support the proximity market.
Special attention was given to the checkout and payment methods, designed to accommodate a less tech-savvy audience.

Results
Revenue from sales in the first few months of activity significantly exceeded the investment made to develop the entire project, with a good conversion rate for online transactions.
Excellent results were also recorded for the ROAS (Revenue from campaign/Cost of campaign) of Google Ads campaigns. Pomodoor’s B2C initiative allowed the company to continue activities across various areas, even during the pandemic context.

How it all started
Pian della Mussa is a company founded in the 70s that bottles mineral water from the spring above the village of Balme 1,500 meters above sea level, in the heart of the Piedmontese Graian Alps. In the last 15 years, the company has grown significantly and the water bottling line has expanded.
Not only water, but also a great passion for quality beer has led Pian della Mussa to set up a brewery that makes beer with the same spring water.
Production is inspired by principles of environmental sustainability and is conducted with the utmost transparency, leaving nothing to chance. The properties and characteristics of the spring water and raw materials used guarantee a 100% organic product of very high quality.
The company’s goal is to enhance and sell its products through the creation of an e-Commerce that reflects the values and high standards of the production chain.
The solution
We integrated and extended the company’s institutional website (CMS: WordPress) to transform it into a WooCommerce store.
The shopping experience was designed according to the client’s needs: the e-commerce platform is user-friendly, making it easy for customers to make quick purchases.
For future projects, new developments are planned. The idea is to enhance the existing solution by adding a section dedicated to the Horeca sector (bars, restaurants, and establishments) to simplify and speed up certain distribution processes. The goal is to eventually stop using traditional distribution channels for beer and rely entirely on online sales.

Results
The sales results have been very positive.
“Everything started from the need to sell online. Going online was almost a natural step, also facilitated by the recent positive experience we had with Synesthesia in creating another sales site managed by the same family group. We strongly believe in online sales. This is our first step towards the future.“
(Elisa Druetta, e-commerce Manager of Pian Della Mussa).

MiaCar is an innovative business model that allows you to buy new cars online (or km 0), ready for delivery.
The portal has been designed to offer an advantage both to individuals, who can buy a car without having to go to a dealership, and to dealers, who have the opportunity to access a new sales channel, accelerating the turnover of their new fleet.
MiaCar has chosen Synesthesia for the design and development of its e-commerce platform.
The solution
To define the multichannel sales strategy, a seamless user experience was designed, structuring content to make navigation fast, intuitive, and personalised.
Today, using user behaviour tracking tools such as Hotjar and Fullstory, UI improvements are made continuously, while the use of A/B testing with Google Optimize helps identify which variants of texts or sections perform better in terms of conversions.
The use of data, in this case, is the best approach to validate hypotheses made during the prototyping phase.

Results
The development of the platform in a proprietary framework has enabled us to guarantee a fast, secure, and personalised browsing experience.
Thanks to integration with external payment platforms (GestPay, Paypal) and major financial institutions (FCA Bank, PSA Bank, Findomestic, Agos, Santander), the portal is able to provide real-time TAN and TAEG for requested financing.
The simple and intuitive back-end allows the MiaCar team to independently manage all the content on the site. Moreover, through integration with Agile CRM, advanced control statistics are available to continuously improve the customer purchasing process.

How it all started
Eataly is a food market that combines the values of slow food and the search for natural, local and less processed products.
Established in Turin in 2007, today the brand boasts stores all over the world (Italy, United States, Brazil, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Turkey, Japan, United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Saudi Arabia) and is constantly growing.
Eataly Net, in particular, manages the online store of the brand, launched in Spring 2013, which spreads the value of Made in Italy food and wine in the world.
The solution
The goal that Eataly aims to achieve with the support of Synesthesia is to create a global e-commerce platform that integrates and supports all of Eataly’s sales channels.
The platform, built using the open-source Magento e-commerce CMS, is designed not only to showcase and sell products but also to provide an overview of Italian food and wine culture.

Results
The collaboration between Synesthesia and EatalyNet led to the launch, in July 2014, of the new front-end for the e-commerce site Shop Eataly, featuring:
- A layout that aligns with the brand’s values and highlights individual products.
- Technology and customisation of features to tailor the customer journey, guiding visitors towards the products best suited to their needs.
Thanks to the development in Magento, the site’s functionalities were enhanced to simplify navigation and make the purchasing process quick, easy, and secure.
